Hi everyone,

As part of the R&D process, we’ve assembled a focus group made up of queer/Global Majority theatre makers and theatre lovers to provide feedback on and help guide the development of the piece.

Last week, we met for the first time and it was everything I hoped for and more. Over the course of 3 hours, the group read through the latest draft of the script (with some really compelling performances, I might add), and then we talked about what making a QPoC tragedy means in this current moment.

For all the discussion handled some heavy topics — looking at fear, grief and generational trauma — the excitement and good humour of the group made the session feel light and easy.

We’ll be meeting again in a month or so, and I can’t wait to chat with and learn from this incredibly wise, generous and good natured group of people.

I also have to say thank you to HOME for providing not only space and tea/coffee, but also some thoroughly addictive cookies.
